Sufjan Stevens, you goddamn thief

And here's "Vito's Ordination Song", from Sufjan Steven's 2003 album Greetings from Michigan:



It's even in the same key. Sufjan apologists, I dare you to argue that he didn't lift the chord progression, instrumentation, and feel for his song from his Icelandic superiors.

Whoa. That's crazy! I wonder if Sigur Ros realizes... I still love Sufjan though! But I also love Sigur Ros very much. So...

I have nothing of value to say to this. Besides, maybe, good observation!

I also love them both. In fact "Vito" is one of my favorite songs on that album. I'd love to find some way to believe that it's a coincidence or a deliberate homage. But I am skeptical!

Regardless, I'll go on record and say that Sigur Ros >> Sufjan Stevens.
